Reframe (working title) is a bookwork that engages with ideas of representation within institutional and memorial architecture, undertaken while working as an artist-in-residence at the Banff Centre. Created from a series of larger etchings, the work fractures these structures and recombines them into an implied narrative that interrogates the narrow populations that have historically formed powerful institutional bodies in this country. Drawing on imagery from archival maps, monuments of politicians, and classical architecture, the bookwork creates space between these components as it fragments them, acknowledging the necessary and ongoing dialogue that the process of reconciliation entails.
